Cornish Rocella scarf story
An escape to Cornwall is good for the soul – and the imagination. I spent a wonderful September weekend with Yvonne, a talented friend who finds music in everything and sings in one of London’s best classical choirs. We stayed at the boutique Boskerris Hotel in Carbis Bay, explored the galleries of St Ives and blew the cobwebs away striding along the seaside coastline. Fuelled by the best muesli I’ve ever eaten, I was happy photographing the textures and patterns of the cliffs and rock pools.
Craggy Cornish cliffs covered in moss and lichen captured my imagination and metamorphosed into a sensuous snakeskin style print. The natural earthy colours created their own patterns and evolved into this complex kaleidoscope of silver and bronze. I love that something so rugged and organic can become soft and sexy once transformed through the camera and printed onto silk.
